Phil Wahl Abolitionist of the Year & Lifetime Abolitionist Awards

The Phil Wahl Abolitionist of the Year Award is presented at the OCADP Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner each May.  A retired United Methodist Minister, Phil Wahl served as a model of untiring work for abolishing the death penalty.  Any person is eligible who has worked diligently during the year to move us toward repealing the death penalty and discrediting it in the minds of both the public and legislature so reenactment is unlikely.

The Lifetime Abolitionist Award is conferred upon persons whose work for the abolitionist cause represents extraordinary effort and dedication. This award is not granted annually; it is given when the Coalition wishes to recognize stellar efforts against the death penalty.
